🕵️ Privacy Policy

You know what we hate? Creepy websites that show you ads after you visit them. You know, the ones that save all kinds of data on you so that they can try to sell you crap once you’re gone. Ugh.

Below you will see how this site is not tracking anything personal about you. The only time that we receive personal information (your email address) is if you proactively subscribe to receive email notifications about new blog posts published on this website.

Non-Identifying Information

We use an open-source application, called Matomo (formerly Piwik), to analyze visitor statistics. This is hosted by write.as, so the data never leaves their servers, and it is not shared with big analytics companies like Google. It enables us to improve to see where our visitors come from and which posts are most popular, while still protecting your identity and data.

Matomo uses cookies, or small text files saved on your computer, but it also respects your browser's Do Not Track (DNT) setting.

Forms On This Site

Your email address is collected when you submit a form to subscribe to future blog posts. This email address will be sent email versions of new blog posts that are published on this site.

The emails you receive do not include any tracking pixels, nor do they relay any data to me. I do not know if you open the email, forward it, or trash it (please don’t trash it).

You are free to unsubscribe at any time from my list. When you unsubscribe, we will no longer be able to see your email address. It is deleted forever.

Third-Party Services And Your Data

Matomo is used for the reasons outlined in the Non-Identifying Information section above.

We also use RadioPublic for embedding individual podcast episodes. RadioPublic does not track personal information.
